In the flower beds outside the barn, the tulips open one by one – carefully, as if they are not quite sure yet. The garden is busy: soil being turned, seeds being sown, plants getting a second chance. In the fields around the farm, work begins again after a long winter.

The snow still lies white in the mountains as the slopes below begin to turn green. The streams, frozen all winter, find their way again – first as a trickle, then as a song. The air is crisp and cold in the morning, warming gently through the day.
Enjoy Voss without crowds
April and May are months when you have Voss almost to yourself. Many hiking trails reopen. The gondola takes you up into a landscape shifting between winter and spring – depending on how high you go. The waterfalls and fjords are at their most powerful after the snowmelt.
